What it’s for

Vinyl comes into its own where every garment is different, or where other methods struggle with the fabric. A squad of football shirts each with a name and number, a staff rota of twelve jackets with individual initials, a waterproof coat that can’t take DTG ink — all straightforward in vinyl.

  • Individual personalisation at no extra setup per name
  • Technical and waterproof fabrics that reject other methods
  • Urgent jobs — no screens to burn, no digitising to wait for
  • Specialist finishes including reflective, metallic and flock

Where it isn’t the answer

Vinyl is cut from sheets of solid colour, so it suits clean, bold shapes rather than photographs or gradients. Designs with lots of small separate pieces take longer to weed by hand and get expensive. And on a large run of identical shirts, screen printing will be both cheaper and softer on the garment.

Pricing

Vinyl is priced per garment and depends on the size of the name, number or logo, and how many you need. Names and numbers for a squad work out cheaper per shirt than a one-off. Send us the list and we’ll price it properly.

Looking after vinyl

Wash inside out at 30°C and don’t iron directly over the print. Treated well, vinyl stays put for the life of a season’s kit; treated badly — a hot iron straight onto it — it will lift at the edges.

Common questions

Can every shirt have a different name?

Yes, and that’s the main reason to choose vinyl. Send us a list and we’ll match names to sizes.

How quickly can you turn it around?

Vinyl is our fastest method — small jobs often go out in 1–2 working days. If you have a fixed deadline, tell us and we’ll confirm before you commit.

Will it work on my hi-vis?

Yes, and we position it so the reflective bands and the garment’s EN ISO 20471 rating stay intact.
